80s-ish movie, woman in bandages?

Looking for a movie I can't remember the title of.

A woman has lost/burned most of her skin (don't remember why), and her husband/friend (the male protagonist) wraps her entire body and face in white bandages. She may have worn a robe as well. He puts her in a safehouse(?) somewhere in a village, then leaves. I don't think we could see much graphic scenes of her body before she was put in bandages, but I'm not sure.

That's it. I think it's French, maybe 80s. But could also be some Italian giallo from around the same time.

Not much to go by I guess.
