On the beach Song

Went to a gothic club many years ago and I would always hear this song. I never Asked the DJ Cause he was a dick. The lyrics would basically sound like I walk on beach or something. It was mostly a tekno song and it sounded like a beach wave. It didnt have much more lyrics than that. Ive searched the web for this song and havent found anything close to it. I think techno songs in general are hard to find. They dont get much love on the net.

I'm probably way off, but was it the techno version of Missing by Everything But The Girl?

reply

yea I know this song. Great Song. This is like 80's house music.

What Im looking for is more like 2000's gothic club techno music.

reply

Justin Timberlake's "My Love" has a repeated phrase "walking on the beach with your toes in the sand..."

Paul Oakenfold made a techno mix of it

For some reason I think I wouldve recognized JT. The song has a british type accent and doesnt say much. Its mostly just a techno goth type song.

This is an example of modern type gothic music that has a similar feel.

I never heard of Techno-Goth before. The Gary Numan song sounds like a morphing of late 70s syntwave and Industrial Metal so I guess that's what Techno-Gothic is in general? I can't say I can help you any further though. Good luck

reply

Well thats what I think it is. As I was a goth club playing techno dance music and most of gary's videos to that music is gothic like.

Thanks.

Bump.

reply

Not techno but certainly under the Goth category, but maybe it is New Order's Blue Monday https://youtu.be/FYH8DsU2WCk or The Cure's Killing An Arab https://youtu.be/SdbLqOXmJ04, both reference beaches.

reply

I know these songs and both to me are highly popular.

The one Im looking for isnt popular nor do I think by a popular band. It is also a gothic song but mostly instrumental with a beach wave sound to it with the words on the beach. If I remember correctly it is a long mostly instrumental song.

See if it's any of these - https://genius.com/search?q=lyrics%20%22on%20the%20beach%22

reply

Nice try but no.

You have be into the goth/industrial scene to know it. As these type of songs arent usually on the net, google, or easy to find.

reply

I was into the goth scene when it started lol.

It still doesn't ring a bell unless it was some track that wasn't known in the UK and you are not from there.

It's a bit lyricy but fits your description a bit better and is more obscure -

Probably not any of these ones either

The only place ive heard this song was in a goth club in The US. In Miami. Of course I dont think it was a hit but they played it everytime and every time it left quite an impression. The one time I thought about asking the dj I actually almost got in a fight with him and almost jumped him just because when I went to touch him to whisper to him he went crazy and wanted to fight. My friend almost jumped in but I held him back. I never went to ask the crazy dj again. He said he was from the marines like that was supposed to scare me. This happened around 2005.

The first song you almost got it. It was that type of music and as you can see it wasnt popular. Difference was that it had moments of beach waves in it. It was so close that if I might replace it with this one if we dont find it. And this is the closest Ive gotten so far. Great effort.

Do you know anyone else that went to the same club? If so, ask them if the know the song or can remember any more lyrics.

I was going to ask what year to help narrow it down. 2005 gives a better time period to search for.

If you know the club and the dj, maybe contact him (use a different name if you don't want to identify yourself) and ask what the track was.

Male or female singer?

reply

Anyone else I knew wouldnt have known the song as it was a random song that wasnt popular. I also dont have any connections anymore. Not long after they closed the club 😢. I probably did have the names of the dj in their flyers but probably threw them out after that incident bad experiences as the club was very clique and unfriendly.

Glad you asked cause I forgot to mentioned that it was a male with a british voice. Similar to Morrisey, jay Gordon, or the cure. Most of these type of songs I like are from British male artists. Right up your alley. I for some reason dont think this song is older than 2000. It was very new wavy.

Maybe ask around somewhere like here - https://www.facebook.com/hexedmiami/

Been having a good dig around but haven't come across anything that sounds or reads like what you are describing.

reply

This is more of ad page. I dont think they find it here. The British connection might do. Take your time I dont expect you to find it in one swoop.

reply

Are you sure that was the lyrics? Were there any more or might it have been sand and not beach? Was it just a repeated phrase/chorus with verses? Anything else you can remember about them?

reply

Yea it was just a repeated phrase about the beach. It didnt have much lyrics mostly sound, im sure it had an ocean wave sound and it sounded like dark industrial goth music. The voice if I remember it correctly had a thick english accent like morrisey. The song didnt have much lyrics and had the style of your first song you sent me. It also seemed like a long song. Like a 7 minute song. By the way thank you for helping me cause Ive never been this close and google sucks and ive been in many sites and forums and most dont help or have a clue.

reply

Just looked it up in youtube and couldnt find it. Can you believe there is a band called beach goth? Though it didnt sound similar they played a type of industrial independent music. As I looked it up and thought of what you said a few things came to mind.

There was this song Im sure they played like once but I liked it and remember it cause of the lyrics of course and the reason Im bringing it up is cause its an example of a song with mostly sound and few to none words and they also played it there.

Also an update came to mind. I just remembered a few the lyrics but also remember I couldnt find it on anything( google and a bunch of word and lyric sites) with those lyrics. Something about I walk alone. As in being a loner. Maybe that was the lyric and i got confused with beach because it has a beach wave but im not sure. This was like in 05 and havent heart the song since so you can imagine. What was strange was that it was a good song that was probably the best song in the club that they played almost every single time I was there but it wasnt a song ive ever heard anywhere else or anyone knew about. It wasnt a hit or radio or anything. Im starting to think it mightve been an independent band or a song from the dj or something.

If it's not about the beach, maybe it's this? it's older than that though -

Okay the first stray away as it was more metal. The other ones were too lyricist as you said but closer to the rhythm. Blutengel had a similar voice to him. I think the song also contained the lyrics of steps or walk on the beach. You have to keep it mind that it is a sort of dance song since this is a dance club and it’s industrial goth.

You’re quite good at this since you know your songs. I dont think i wouldve known these songs but if you cant find it then no one cant and I’d just give up.

To be very specific I found important information to brighten up your guide though I didnt want to this. The gothic night was called the morgue and I found an old flyer for you and in this flyer they talk about the type of music.

This is how the place feels like and a similar dj with similar music at a similar place.

This is the closest Ive gotten but Im not entirely convinced it’s this one but it’s extremely close. It doesnt bave the beach wave I remember vividly but the lyrics are close. It couldve been a mix or variation.

One of my favourite songs (skip the intro and go to to 02:15) -

The first one was way too techno.

The second one was very close. It had the vibe and feel to it if it werent for the repetitive beating. Dont know where you get this songs. It somehow could be from the same artist.

reply

The only other one they did that might be it is this but again, it's too lyrical- https://youtu.be/XVP_R6mqAjw

I was a dj in a previous life lol.

Still too lyrical -

The first one had a pretty good video and the way he said I walk was similar to how the song went. He says it and pauses repeatedly but when says it it blends with the background music. It is not louder.

The second was very good and if it werent the lyrics it might be the song. It was just like the song that style. The blue also reminded how I thought the song should look. It was very very close and good. You have good taste in music.

The third wasnt so close.

But A for Effort!
