girls in their late teens/early 20s live in a worn house together

Some girls create a pact or some kind of a cultish group. Any girl that accept the rules can live in this house. The rules are No contact with men and maybe something more that I don't remember.

I think many of the main characters have had an experience with aggressive sexual behaviour from men, one girl had an uncle, which constantly tried to f*** her.

The leader in the house was a different girl though. I think the leader became a radical leftie and went to join some south American/south-east Asian revolution later.

I think cars, clothes and hair looked 60/70s, but I think the movie is newer than that.

Language was definitely English with an American accent.

Some more elements I remember is:

two of the girls from the house meeting up several years after, and talking about their former "Leader". Looking at a photo of her, taken somewhere during a revolution in South-America or south-east Asia

The store owning uncle seeing the girl walking by the store. forcing her inside, turning the open sign and taking her to the back of his store.

The girls successfully kidnapped some wealthy local VIP. I think he tried to get some of the girls a job at some stage at the movie

All the girls where American, but the leader looked more like a Russian/Ukrainian girl. She had black hair and looked a bit similar to this girl: https://pnimg.net/lrep/1904/4/mce8ed39f6d.jpg

The Craft(1996)

reply

No, and I'm pretty sure you did not read every post.
Thanks for trying though.

I think I have it!!! Foxfire a very early Angelina Jolie movie. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116353/

reply

I did come across this movie earlier, looking for my movie.
Sorry, but it's not the one. I watched the entire trailer again, but just looking at clothes, cars, and hair is enough.
It's too modern

You’re killing me, Smalls.

When we solve this, we can meet and have a celebration together.
Only you and I can understand this pain.

reply

I like your optimism. When and not if. The thing which resonates the most with me is the women looking at a picture of the leader as a radical. So effing familiar.

I did finally solve this Ricknot. It was a french foxfire film made in 2012, which they speak English.
Based on the same novel as the 1996 film.

reply

You know I saw that on IMDB but thought, it’s just a remake it can’t be it. I knew it wasn’t the original and assumed it wouldn’t be this one either. I think it was confusing because your description was close to the first one but not quite it. Thanks for keeping me updated. I can sleep tonight!!

reply

The remake was actually much closer to the novel. When I read about the 1955 novel on wiki, I knew my movie had to be based on that. There were way too many similarities for it not to have influenced my movies script.

reply

How about this one???

reply

No, but I would not be surprised if one of those movies got inspired by the other. Somewhat similar for sure.

reply

I agree, I think it’s in this vein. Very frustrating.

reply

I honestly taught this vas the quickest solved mystery. Because of the rare elements to it, combined with being an American film.
An American film with only females in the lead and a worn house used for living.

Is there a complete list with multiple females in the lead somewhere?
Which doesn't include movies like IKWYDLS, which includes two girls, but also two boys in the 4 leads?

reply

Much of what you describe was in an episode of The Murdoch Mysteries. I haven't seen a movie that fits the description.

reply

I will check that one out if you tell me what episode.
