Cant remember the name of a movie.
A group of male friends who are all gay are seated at an outside table of a cafe or restaurant.
One of the men's partner walks up and puts either a watch or a piece of mans jewelry in front him and then just walks away.
Everyone at the table knows that their friend has just been caught out cheating on his partner.

I believe the scene you're talking about is from The Woman in Red. It was a theatrical release and the friends aren't all gay, but one of them played by Charles Grodin is (as it comes out) a closeted gay man and his gay lover throws the ID bracelet of the younger man that Grodin was having an affair with on the table of the outdoor café. It gets ketchup on it. He then walks back to his car and throws a suitcase with Grodin's clothes onto the street.
This was actually a minor subplot, the main plot revolves around Gene Wilder attempting to have an affair with a much younger woman (played by Kelly LeBrock). Hope this helps.
