shareYes, they're very similar classification/censorship regimes today - 'strong language' permitted in both at 15 cert, repeated use if appropriate to context.
UK:
15 – Suitable only for 15 years and over
Language
There may be strong language. Very strong language may be permitted, depending on the manner in which it is used, who is using the language, its frequency within the work as a whole and any special contextual justification.

ROI:
15A Certificate - Guidelines
LANGUAGE
Strong language is allowed at 15A. Frequent or aggressive use of these terms will have to be justified within the context of the piece.

The islands are pretty similar culturally these days - Ireland bans/censors far fewer movies than it did decades ago and in turn the UK has upped its capability for casual and inventive swearing in public to near Irish levels - but not quite.
