Yes, they're very similar classification/censorship regimes today - 'strong language' permitted in both at 15 cert, repeated use if appropriate to context.

The islands are pretty similar culturally these days - Ireland bans/censors far fewer movies than it did decades ago and in turn the UK has upped its capability for casual and inventive swearing in public to near Irish levels - but not quite.
