Need title: Spliced tape says, "This is Tony. I'm going to get you."

I'm trying to remember a movie I saw in either the late '80s or early '90s. I don't remember much except what I put in the title.

Two people—I *think* it was a man and a woman—splice together portions from a cassette tape to change what it says. Then they call someone and play the spliced tape, which now says, "This is Tony. I'm going to get you."

The person they called gets angry and starts yelling at them. He may have threatened them.

I don't think it was a comedy. It was probably drama or suspense.

Does anyone remember what movie this was?
