Documentary about war movies

I'd like to find a documentary (90s-early 2000s) about cinema, focusing on American war movies with excerpts from "The Deer Hunter" (Russian roulette scene), "Paths of Glory" (when the general slaps a young soldier) and other war movies from the 20th century.
(tried to check movie references, but couldn't find anything similar).

No...there was only one host and excerpts from different movies. Maybe this was a single episode of a tv mini-series about cinema.

Both movies were featured in The Greatest Ever War Films (2014) but the year doesn't match.

Mine was made much earlier, possibly 97-98...

can't remember which films they showed for sure, but perhaps "Cinema Combat: Hollywood Goes to War (1998)".
