There was a lot of hype for the Phantom Dennis before it came out. It was touted as better than the original trilogy and basically the greatest thing since sliced bread. I saw it in the theater with a friend. When the movie was over, we were like 'where should we eat?'. There was really nothing to say about it. Nothing to hate about it. Nothing to love. It was just sterile and safe and left absolutely no impression. And it's not just nostalgia with the original trilogy. The characters were ALIVE. When SW came out nearly every boy wanted to be Han (some Vader). But the characters all had chemistry. If you like the prequels, fine. I just don't get why people down others who don't share their love for a particular movie. From what little I've seen of it, it looks more like a video game. I agree with all of this. I try to watch these in the viewpoint of someone not familiar with their story. I thought they might have touched on Sunflower and how it brought back some of the Pet Sounds magic. And there was really nothing about their reunion 10 or 12 years ago. The show was winding down and I thought "Did I miss something? Nothing on Dennis drowning or the loss of Carl or the movies that were made about the BB and Brian? Well it's Disney. There were some good moments like when Mike got choked up talking about Brian. Good idea but I'd cut it off before season 9 and the Armin Tamzarian BS. I saw this in the theater and everyone seemed to enjoy it, though there was a collective groan at the ending. Maybe that's what put people off? I really liked it. Second acts are typically dark. Trump should demand that there be a drug test and wire check for both candidates. Also when it's a candidate's turn to speak, all other mics are off including the moderator's. I didn't realize church movies were prolific enough to warrant a parody like this. How bout 'Not another Superhero Movie" or Not another Remake". Hope to see him someday among the stars making beautiful music again. Thank you :} Absolutely. And he had a lot to do with the writing and arranging of songs that were credited to the other band members. It's a shame he didn't stay for their later career but so glad we have those classic albums. Sad news indeed. Mike gave them their haunting sound with his beautiful writing and Mellotron. When he left the band in 1978, they were never the same. He had a songwriting contest about 15 years ago and critiqued a couple of my songs. A very special moment in my life! View all replies >
