Was the $5 Regal Monday Mystery Movie & AMC's Screen/Scream Unseen Feb 5, 2024

The dedicated Reddit threads to guessing the title had mixed results. Some people liked it and some disliked it. If they wanted this to be a successful dark comedy, they could have done much more to make it funny. Instead it came across as being mean spirited at times.

There were about 44 people in my Regal theater, mostly in their 50s or 60s, presumably for the $5 ticket, with 70% female. One older man left immediately. A few chuckles here and there. Lisa Frankenstein opens wide in three days, so I didn't expect it to be the Mystery Movie. If it got poor reviews from test audiences, that might be why they showed it this way. A lack of money for promotion and advertising is another reason.

The stepsister, played by Liza Soberano, was the most likable character in the movie, and good looking too. I actually saw her in a Filipino movie, My Ex and Whys (2017) in an American movie theater. Cole Sprouse of the CW channel's Riverdale played The Creature. I did not recognize him.
