Did Liz really think she stood a chance against Frankie?

Watched this movie for thr first time. I know it's old but this is just my thoughts. Did Liz really think she could compete against an ultra gorgeous, modrl thin girl for a guy locked in a bomb shelter? She must have been stupid.
