Do you guys remember how much of a massive hit this show was from the very first season ?

I was at school at the time, it makes me feel old now lol but I remember quite well the media attention that show received really well. They called it the biggest TV hits of the year. There was articles about the actors all over the internet. It was so critically acclaimed. Even before the show was released it was super hyped. I remember I could not wait to watch it because of the word to mouth it was getting. It feels strange looking back. It was in the early days of the internet, before streaming platforms, there was more excitement about new shows at the time then now.
