4/10. Here's why:

CELEBRITY, a loose remake of LA DOLCE VITA, suffers from some of the criticisms spoken by the fictional critics, like the many clichés (specially for Woody Allen in the late 90's). Also, its humour is like a blind guy trying to rape someone: It's more miss than hit. It's the last act the one with all the good ideas, so I'm not sure if other viewers will have enough patience. Specially because the first 2 acts have those flaws I mentioned. I've been noticing a pattern. When it comes to filmmakers who make fun of critics in their movies, they tend to be the ones that don't get critically panned so often. In this movie, critics are portrayed as the worst people ever. A character even says "I don't read reviews" with a tone that implies "Why on Earth would I do that?" And Woody has done it in other movies. But you know what? Only 10-15 of his 50 movies have gotten negative or mixed reviews. What the *beep* is he bitching about?!

Any thoughts?
