'Galactic Standard Week' makes no sense

This movie tries to be funny in too many ways - sometimes things end up not making sense for the sake of being able to tell a crappy joke.

The 'Galactic Standard Week' should be LONGER than our normal week, shouldn't it? Everything is bigger in astronomical and galactic scale compared to our tiny everyday lives.

Not to mention, WHAT kind of superfast-spinning planet goes through a whole week in our HOUR? That's not even feasible anatomically speaking, unless you are talking about tiny insects or something! It makes absolutely no sense from this aspect, either.

Also, why use a 'normal' word, like 'week', which in english clearly means seven days? Just putting the word 'galactic' in front of it does not make it any different. WHAT is the reason for saying it like this anyway? Who the heck thinks of Earth hours as weeks, why, how, etc.?

Couldn't they AT LEAST have had the courtesy of doing it like they did it in 'Mork & Mindy' or 'Battlestar Galactica' from seventies, where they simply use 'their own words' that just HAPPEN to coincide with ours..?

Also, if it really means an hour, then WHY THE HECK would any human being, MiB or not, refer to it as 'galactic week' or anything like that? It's even worse than movie covers having the runtime printed as minutes instead of hours and minutes, or people talking about 'twelve weeks' instead of just saying three months. It makes absolutely no sense.

But wait, it gets worse!

We are THEN shown the 'hour counter' with minutes and seconds on the screen.

So WHY the F would anyone ever even talk about 'galactic week', if they are going to literally count it as hours minutes and seconds ANYWAY? Shouldn't the timer follow the 'official way of talking about time' (the galactic week), _OR_ what the !@%!#* was the POINT of talking about 'galactic week' in the first place?!

This makes NO SENSE in-universe, so the ONLY way this makes any sense is 'because it's a funny joke about fooling us with intergalactic terminology'.

In other words, they absolutely murder common sense for the sake of a really lousy joke.

F*ck you, movie!

BEWARE! Avortac4 is a troll trying to waste everyone's time with such idiotic comments. Look at his posts. He doesn't think anything in any film makes sense. His post may seem like it makes sense in the first sentence or two. But he always quickly wanders off into a completely idiotic idea, and then writes a wall of text that makes no sense. And his sole purpose is to waste your time, thinking he's cute for doing so. Don't feed the troll. If you write a comment, you're giving this troll EXACTLY what he wants. Don't comment after my comment.
