The parallel parking scene was shot in reverse. Just noticed this for the first time last night after having watched this after many years.

They filmed the car pulling out from between two cars, then reversed the shot and maybe even sped it up a bit too.

Was the car already smashed into the opposite car?

I'm not talking about the car accident with chainsaw. I'm talking about Diane's (I think that was her name) parallel park job just before she passed the driver's test.
