Did anyone notice the creation of a prototype for what would become an oscar winning character seven years down the hollywood road?

Somewhere among the comments for this really good movie (5.4?) someone mentioned that "slow" is absolutely a point of view thing.

I thought that was quite profound. Fans of Laverne and Shirley appreciate that Lenny and Squiggy never regarded each other as "dummies."
