Do they take any actual classes?

I was watching this film recently and came to the realization that throughout the film, we see the various the various characters interacting and advancing the plot while in band, choir, home economics, football or cheerleading classes? So all they do is take electives all day in school? What a relaxing school day! Lucky jerks lol
