Some have postulated that Jubal, found wounded and nursed back to health by Shep, is actually Shane with a name change, fresh from his shoot-out with the Riker brothers and Jack Wilson.

Interesting fanfic-type scenario, at least!

Jubal was not wounded/shot when Shep happened upon him. He had lost his horse and was suffering from exposure.

Ah, "my bad!" I haven't actually seen JUBAL since the 1970's.
