shareDairy in unfairly demonized due to the plethora of unhealthy processed forms consumed in the US, like nacho and American cheese. On the other end, foods like cottage cheese and whey protein are pretty much unequivocally healthy. I do recall reading something awhile back about potential dangers from homogenized milk relating to alterations in the size of fat compounds and the effects that this may have on the circulatory system, but I can't speak with much knowledge there.
Diet advice from Fran Drescher is a funny concept though.
All those creamy milkshake, lattes and sundaes you'd miss out on without dairy.
Boring vegan substitutes don't ever taste as good,
I enjoy ice cream, shakes, etc in moderation. A few of the vegan dairy products are OK. I now eat yogurt frozen bars versus ice cream, due to health reasons.
shareIt is probably BS. Unless you have lactose intolerance it is probably perfectly fine and nutritious. Every thing in moderation.
shareMy ex husband was lactose intolerant, so other than eggs I was mostly dairy free for years. I still don't drink milk straight, but I do add it to my tea, and I love cheese. Real cheese though. Not gross Velveeta type stuff.
shareWhy do so many people think eggs are a dairy product? I must confess I did. Maybe because they are both non-meat animal products you find on a farm.
shareI think because they are in the dairy section, and a non meat proteins?
shareAnyway, eggs are not a dairy product. Peanut butter, though, is -

It don't cost anything! Oh, wait...
I've been eating dairy-free ice cream lately. I now prefer it. I feel better afterwards.
A life without cheese?
No thanks.
I can't drink regular milk but can eat cheese and ice cream just fine. Weird. I only drink unsweetened almond milk. I gave up regular milk over 10 years ago when I lost a bunch of weight.
shareActually yeah. This may seem like BS but its the truth.
For some reason, milk became my drink. It wasn't a health thing - it was just what I liked. I've been drinking tons of it, for as long as I can remember.
I had one problem, maybe 12-13 years ago - Doctor told me my cholesterol was high. He suggested I try 2% milk. Up to that point I only drank whole milk. I did as he said and switched to 2%.
Cholesterol has been perfect since. And, I still drink tons of milk.
