The car in "Timecop"

In the Jean Claude Van Damne movie, you need the car to travel in time. However, when you reach your destination it disappears. I know this is just lazy writing or creative way to lower the effects budget, but think of the advantages. No need to park it. You don't need to look for it, it comes back when you need it. Can you think of any other stupid things in movies that would be useful in real life?
