I miss the mini series

I remember growing up watching almost all of them. They were entertaining as well as fun to watch. Shame they don't do them anymore.

Yeah, I rewatched "North and South" about three years ago, and it made me miss the days when networks would have a grand, multipart series. Good times.

I rewatced N&S too, and found it didn't hold up well. Too ott drama-queenish, cringe-inducing. But I loved seeing The Winds of War (and the sequel) again. Good times...

The UK is still making them. If you like classics, costume drama and English characters, you will find plenty of them to watch at your library. Check the DVD shelves.

I generally find them to be more satisfying than feature length films and even television shows as they are often an ideal length to explore the world being created with satisfaction.

It have directors and writers more time. My favorites are salems lot, the stand and roots which wouldn't exist as a film due to length.
