My 2 favorite genres are arthouse/avant garde and horror, its hard to find movies where both are mixed perfectly. Help me out here
I am a fan of Lynch, Jordorsky, Svankmyer ect... and know about all the horror stuff as well. Any recs would be great.

i second lars von trier's "antichrist." i'd also suggest ingmar bergman's "hour of the wolf."
there's a few so-so movies i've seen in the last few years that were polanski/lynchian type films: "buddy boy" and "next door" stand-out as examples, though they both are too derivitive to be anything more than guilty pleasures.
gaspar noe's "irreversible" also comes to mind.
i'd check out the earlier films by the guy who did "tetsuo: the iron man." i can't remember his name off-hand though. if you like lynch, you might like "snake of june."
