He died at the age of 96. A good long life. Probably readers of this board remember him best as Wilber Post in the TV series “Mister Ed” (1961-1966, CBS).

My favorite performance of his, though, is as Filby – the friend to the Time Traveler in George Pal’s masterpiece, The Time Machine (1960). For going on 60 years I still think of him in that, especially his sensitive playing in the final scene. His question to the maid (Doris Lloyd) is one that has occasionally popped into my head over the decades.

I loved Alan Young very much. I've talked with him several times during the past few years and he was charming, delightful, funny and sweet.

I recorded these calls with Alan and shared them with just "family and friends" so they could also hear what a wonderful man Alan was. I shall cherish these recordings as a memento of Alan.

It does comfort me to know Alan is in heaven but I'll definitely miss him very much. Alan had stated that he started every day with God and now he is with Him.
