Difference between Fujicolor and Technicolor


Can someone please explain the differences between Filming with Fujicolor and Technicolor. Does one come out brighter or dimmer, or what?

Years ago, Fuji was of a lower saturation than Kodak. Also, if you can believe it, Fuji was made from a thinner stock. You could put 700 ft on a 400 ft reel. A very important thing in filming is gamma. How the emulsion reacts as the light level goes up and down. It's not linear but it's much wider than TV cameras were in the old days. I'm sure there were some differences between the two. Also, preflashing became popular Vilmos Sigmond and that exerts a large amount of influence on how the film will look. Printing and timing are other variables. The more you shoot, the more you find out. You might prefer one over the other or use one for certain conditions and the other at other times.

Kodachrome, Eastmancolor, etc. are not the same as technicolor...

The simplest answer is the difference is the company who make it, but there are subtle differences in the results of the different color processes.
