How to get into rock?

any essential list of albums in chronological order or particular way of getting into the genre from its core? never really listened to rock at all apart from whatever topped the charts in the 2000s such as californication. i know "rock" is extremely general but i dont know much about any of the subgenres and would like to first become a fan of rock as a whole

Probably want to start with the Beatles. I'd say they're the among first and certainly the most influential bands of all time. From there, maybe the Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin.

If you really want to go back, start with Elvis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, some blues artists like Muddy Waters might also be informative, though I've never listened to him.

For American rock I'd say The Eagles, Bruce Springsteen, Van Halen (a personal favorite), Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan (more folk)

Then, of course, there's AC/DC from Australia, mate. Oh, and why not INXS? I liked them too.

Oh, and maybe watch "School of Rock" with Jack Black :)

I’d start with Rock/Pop if you realize you like it, then start with the classics, and go from there.

I’d start with Bon Jovi, their rock Is very accessible and easy to like then I’d go with Aerosmith also a very easy type of rock to enjoy.
