Does the world really need another recording of Beethoven's 9th...on piano?! It can be chore enough listening to the original...

I couldn't find that one on Spotify, but I'm wading my way through four or five of the top 10.

The Trifinov is worth a listen.

I've heard bits of Cyprien Katsaris' recordings - plenty enough.

Thank you...I'll say, 'I might just do that', but I know what a heathen I am when it comes to trying something new!

Loved the Tilson Thomas Debussy:

I love the Ninth and, in fact, will be going to hear it in concert on New Year's Eve, a week from tomorrow.

I used to have an audio cassette of two of Liszt's piano transcriptions of Beethoven symphonies, the Fifth and, I think, the Fourth. They are quite marvelous and amazing. The last time we moved house we had to downsize considerably so, since my stereo cassette playing had clonked out on me years ago, I 86ed all my audio tapes.

I think the piano transcription of the Ninth would be fascinating to listen to.

Trust me. I’m The Doctor.
