Thanks for the links! I love these old pics and how things look so different, when the motifs are still being in favor today ... this has to be my favorite, it made me smile a lot:

because of the funny contrast between the lady's representative pose plus elaborate headwear and that beauty of a laundry line hung with dish towels I guess those pics have a lot more charm for us today than they had for Bellocq's contemporaries - ?
