I'm gonna say YOLT or TND is going to be the huge upset here. Didn't SF win the month it came out though?

Didn't SF win the month it came out though?Sorry, no. It was very close that month, though.

And all this mainly thanks to Bapster and his lovely sock HugeDaiCottermee

Been going on here for a long time. It involves a quantum of statistics. And some very repetitive posts. Forgetting about what was forgotten, supposedly stricken from memory.

Very complicated. And yet, simple.

Looked like SKYFALL for a while.

Are you sure that mentioning QUANTUM OF SOLACE about twenty times in this thread alone doesn't make any difference? And why is WORLD WAR Z a Bond film?

PS: Do you count "the 2008 atrocity", "worst film ever" or "Forster's Folly" as a mention of QUANTUM OF SOLACE? (There, another one.)

Thanks for your questions, j_w. I'll do my best to answer them.

Question 1: Does mentioning QOS 20 times in the OP make a difference?
Answer 1: No, that's not part of the count. However, mention of QOS in following posts DOES count toward the monthly total. And thanks for the mentions you gave for July.

Question 2: Why is WWZ a Bond film?
Answer 2: This is an excellent question, thank you. During the weeks leading up to the release of the Marc Forster Zombie epic, mention of Swiss Marc and his film eclipsed all other Bond mentions combined for the month of June 2013. As such, it was arbitrarily decided WWZ rated as an honorary Bond film. Therefore it won that month for most mentions. It still gets frequent mention on this board, mostly by a poster who hasn't seen the film and chooses not to (!), but nowhere near the kind of activity it experienced back in the day just before it became a wildly successful box office smash.

Question 3: Do "the 2008 atrocity", "worst film ever", or "Forster's Folley" count as mentions of QOS?
Answer 3: Not automatically. If what are now familiar euphemisms from recognized sources with that intent are invoked, then yes, they add to the count. Synonyms for excrement can also add to the count, and have regularly.

[And to be clear, yes, additional appearances of QOS in your questions and my answers add to the total count.]

Thanks again for your interest in this topic, and best wishes toward your future posting.

All best,

r_b
