Impressionism reference in "La Boheme" (1926)

"La Boheme" (Lillian Gish & John Gilbert, directed by King Vidor, 1926):

At the one hour mark (maybe an hour and a minute) is a shot of several ballerinas in white skirts on a stage. This struck me because I know in the back of my mind that shot is lifted from an Impressionist painting, but I don't know which one (Monet? Degas?)--and ballerinas were a favorite subject for the Impressionists.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or am I genuinely crazy?

My money would be on Degas, who had this subject as his specialty.
