I've noticed that, in a writer's 2nd movie...

... people (not just critics) already like to point out possible trademarks and recurring themes. If there are no connections between it and the 1st movie... they still point that out. Why? Why not just talk about the specific movie? And why not wait until the 3rd movie, when it'll officially become a pattern?
