Got It-Can I Watch It?!?

Once Upon a Time in the West arrived late this afternoon. Man, I have tried to watch this thing a hundred times!! SLOW. CONFUSING. LEONE AND THOSE CLOSE-UPS!! Drives me crazy! But for $5 had to have it. It's a Classic. Did you know Sergio spent as much on the town in the movie.as he spent on whole film A Fistful of Dollars?? (I like that one. Got the Clint Eastwood trilogy.) Well, I'm gonna watch it with commentary, maybe that will make it move along faster. Wish me luck....John
I'll give you a follow up report fright here.

I'm 1/2 hour in (it's almost a 3 hour movie. 2:45). I'm enjoying it. The commentary track is providing lots of information. Almost every scene is an homage to a great Western; starting with High Noon, Shane, etc. I'd heard that about the movie. It's Great, but so damn slow...

My final follow up; with commentary the film is excellent! Sergio Leone spent so much time on long close ups and prolonged scenes the film dragged, but commentary filled the holes. The movie is such an homage to earlier films, but I'm such a B Cowboy fan, I didn't know some of the movies mentioned. If you can see this film with commentary, do it.
