Knowing what we now know about Hollywood I’m pretty confident that Michael Winner was similar to Dan Schneider in that he used these films as a way to act out his personal fantasies. I mean he was dating Robin Sherwood (an issue all on its own). He probably got off on watching her get man-handled.
Bronson was known for being difficult to work with. He was demanding and wanted things done a specific way at a specific time. Why do you think his wife Jill Ireland kept appearing in movies with him? She was a mediocre actress at best, but he demanded that she be given the roles. Bronson also viewed acting as a source of income, and not much more. I believe that’s why he kept making b movies with Cannon films. He had grown up poor, so the last thing he probably wanted was to take chances with his revenue. Ergo, he appeared in lower budget films that lacked prestige, but kept the cash coming.
Dude, cops plant drugs on people today even when they know they’re being recorded by their own body cameras. Cops were way more corrupt in the 1970s when they knew that there was nobody around to record them. Of course they would break into your apartment without a warrant.
Modern cinema probably gets like 60% of its revenue from rage bait movies like this. They know that people will be pissed. It’s part of the marketing strategy.
