Jurassic Park. Everything about that movie said "This was a bad idea" (as in, in movie, not the movie itself), so WHY would anyone try again or do ANYTHING other than nuke the entire island (like in the book)?
You won't lose anything by having a PS4 Pro, but unless you have a 4K, you won't gain anything either as far as I know. All games enhanced for Pro will work on regular and vice versa, but you don't gain anything if you don't have a 4K TV.
Though, like I said, if you plan on getting a 4K sometime in the near future (ish), get the Pro. Otherwise save yourself $100 lol.
Unfortunately, 4K Blu-Ray discs do NOT play on PS4 Pro... Don't ask me to explain that one because I can't lol. Only throwing that out there because if you do have a 4K or plan to get one, you'll still need a 4K Blu-Ray player if you want that benefit (4K is awesome BTW lol).
If you have, or are planning on getting a 4K TV, go with PS4 Pro. If not, regular PS4 is just fine. Then get God of War and Horizon: Zero Dawn.

I've only seen it once, so I cannot say for sure, but I'd be willing to bet that if you are an hour in and not interested at all, you probably won't be by the end either. I myself like these kinds of movies, but typically speaking, only if I was interested in the real life event in the first place. And I must admit, when the whole 'Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan' thing went down, I didn't really care outside of the jokes; O.J. was much more interesting...
Even still, I found it interesting enough for a single watch. But I was just as interested an hour in as I was a half hour, as well as by then end.
I've thought about this for a long time. My personal view is that a TV series, especially something like with Netflix, where you can vary each season in terms of episodes as needed, is probably the only way to really flesh out the full story. Unfortunately, as a big fan of both the movies and books, it would be weird to see a live action recasting; most of the actors ARE those roles to me.
I do have a different perspective than some though, because I watched all of the movies first, and then read the books. From my experience talking to people, a lot of people either read the books first (as they came out), or watched the movies and didn't read the books.
For anyone that at least watched the movies first (or only), it may be hard to picture anyone else in these iconic roles. Not impossible mind you, just hard. However, I have thought that maybe an animated series could work. I could see some kind of 2D animation, similar to the drawings of the original run of the books, OR maybe 3D animation similar to the look/feel of the How To Train Your Dragon series?
Yes I am a fan of the books, and honestly I'd have to disagree. I thought that for the most part the books just got better and better as they went on. I didn't love every aspect of the books, and I'll admit the last is my least favorite for a variety of reasons, but the one thing I loved about the series as a whole is that when re-reading, you can see just how much foreshadowing she did. And for me it really paid off; the last book is by far my least favorite, but it has some of the best moments IMO.
Kind of a funny side note, I never thought I'd even like this series; back before and around the time of the first movie, I thought Harry Potter was just some stupid 'kids' thing. The only reason I even watched the first was because I was forced to (long story). But I actually loved it!
My wife started reading the books after watching the 3rd movie, but I really had no desire to myself. And then for some reason, after watching the last movie for the second time, I decided to give the books a try and against all preconceptions, I loved them! I've re-read them so many times I cannot even count.
One thing I will say though is that it's too bad that Hollywood decided to start the movies before the books were even done, on so many levels. And as much as I love the books, I will admit that they could have been a little more polished, but the moment Hollywood started the movies, the pressure was on; JKR was no longer just under pressure from the publishers, she was racing the clock in the form of aging kids...
It would have been interesting to see how the books may have turned out if JKR had had the ability to take her time, and release them on her own schedule.
Thanks! And no worries! Honestly it's just nice to see something similarly structured with the possibility of getting bigger. I won't be expecting a full return to the experiences of IMDb, those days are gone. But just good movie/TV discussions with other fans/non-fans sounds great to me!
This is pretty cool! I just found this place yesterday, never knew it existed until now. And low and behold, one of my last posts on the old IMDb boards right here!
I had absolutely amazing conversations with people on those boards (all of the HP boards) and I wish they were all here. Had I known these boards existed (seems like this was created just before the official boards blew up, correct me if I'm wrong) I'd have signed up back the and told the others about it. Not sure if any of them would have come along, but I'd have tried.
So are there any of the old HP regulars here? Probably not, as these boards are pretty inactive... Oh well.
Last Crusade was always my favorite. It's just so much more fun IMO. Ark has some great iconic moments, but the story itself was kind of lacking to me. Last Crusade was great!
