(And the "economic disaster" that "businesses are preparing for?" Would that be paying a living wage or shutting down because their product is so bad they can't afford to pay anything above slave labor? That's how capitalism is supposed to work when management and labor are both represented.) (This is a Californian's perspective. I know in many states (coughred!) the minimum wage is unlivable and a worker's only option is to relocate.)

It's mostly individual donors and corporations that fund PBS. Less than 15% comes from governments (local and federal). You're the type that keeps this website from getting more viewers--cite your "fact" before checking to see if it's true, or only partly true. Have you ever thought of doing that?

I definitely, almost sickeningly, remember all those "March for Life" protests held every January in DC, until they got their wish. They were pretty heavily publicized, on all the mainstream media, even in the days before the event. If you think "most people didn't hear a word about it," you were definitely out of touch with the zeitgeist (or perhaps you are lying in your zeal to make out the media as the bogeyman--the first step toward acceptance of totalitarianism.)
