I'm sooo surprised no one is talking about this line.....

The part when Beverly go to her old place & the old lady made this remark: "my father came to this country with only $14 in his pockets. He wasn't looking for hand outs"

Surprised no one drug this line out. LOL.

reply

Well, I thought, how could he have US dollars in his pocket if he'd never been to the country before? But I guessed he converted the previous currency. And I'm sure many immigrants came to the USA with meagre amounts of cash, and still made it.

reply

? 14 dollars was like 20.000 dollars now or something. Besides, Penny-wise only eats fear and people so it's not like he has expenses.

reply

Don't forget that the old lady is actually Pennywise, so he's just "making conversation" with Beverly to keep her there, however bollocksy it sounds.

reply

I agree, Pennywise (old lady) was just making small talk w Bev. Meanwhile he is thinking about how to scare her to conjure up some fear. If you haven't watched the youtube video "ending explained", "pennywise explained" from the channel Heavy Spoilers I would check it out =) I thought it was interesting..

reply

Are you trying to say 14 dollars then is like 20,000 now.

reply

Barton reading. Have someone look it up for you.

reply

Just had a look at it, sounds like complete bullshit.

reply

The Barton reading classes for illiterate adults? My, what an expected downfall, Foebane (is it they or it?)

reply

It looks like a specialist literacy course for those with dyslexia, but if it's so great... why is it not mentioned on Wikipedia?

reply

What bothers me more is that I just watched It 2 and it sucks pretty bad. All CGI, no scares, and too long! How can they fuck this up!

reply

It's a "mild" horror, and what CGI? Do tell.

reply

It’s just because 14 dollars in 1900 is only about 500 dollars now....that’s why I asked.

reply

It's an exaggeration. Pennywise being near supernatural ought to be enough answer for anyone's questions namely.
