Throwing in my two cents *spoilers*

*sits at the bar*
The last horror movie I watched was IT: chapter 2. I just want a decent one... I'd sell my soul for good damn movie. *puts my hands in my face then looks up* Well hey, Mike... *looks at the movies coming out* Blockbuster season... *Laughs*

Flannagan: Funny sir. What'll you be having? *Grabs a novel* This is from Stephen King. The sequel to "The Shining", called "Doctor Sleep".

Me: Is it any good?

Flannagan: See for yourself...

Pro:
Ewan McGregor, and Rebecca Ferguson- Even though all the acting is really good, I specifically loved these two. McGregor as Danny Torrence is amazing, showing the dark side of not just the spiritual world, but addiction as well, as well as having the road to recovery.
Ferguson knocks it out of the park as the villain, Rose the hat. She's terrifying, gorgeous, and overall just an absolute joy to watch. Ferguson doesn't hold back, making her an absolute joy while she's on screen.

Mike Flanagan- I've said before I think Mike Flanagan is one of the best directors working today. For this movie, he wrote the screenplay, directed the movie, and edited it as well. All three of which are outstanding in this. The screenplay not only captures good Stephen King, but manages to really identify as its own thing. The direction of everything is amazing, not only allowing the movie to be its own thing, but allowing fan service to be integral to the plot. The editing is also stunning, being perfectly paced, and really drenching the world in atmosphere.

The past characters being similar but not exact- I get the feeling when the flashbacks to The Overlook are shown, the cast was meant to be CGI face replacements later on but then it was decided not to do so. This actually works to the movie's advantage, allowing the movie to be nostalgic, but also have an identity.

Cons/iffy:
While I don't have any complaints that aren't nitpicks, I do feel that the only real con is that, while the movie is good, it's still a sequel to "The Shining", and that may turn off people.

So overall I enjoyed this Mike *watches movie*

Mike: Well good, because you're not watching "Doctor Sleep", that's "Jack & Jill"

*Looks and sees it is, and runs out screaming*
