I like both Richard Madden and Stuart Martin but, no matter their chronological ages, Martin looks older than Madden.
Also, Richard Madden was only approx 28 years old when was filming segments when he was supposed to have a "20 yr old son" and they gave Richard a tiny white streak in his hair to make that believable? Pluuuuueeeze.
Well, they also deepened the lines in his forehead.
Some have such a low esteem they create reasons to hate everyone else.
It is terrible casting even with fine actors like Dustin Hoffman. None of them seem Italian nevermind fathers and sons with different accents drive me crazy.

Half of the cast was italian and many of the none italian have italian origins, so, i'm confused, who doesn't seems not italian for you?
I think that many of you have no idea about italian people.
For example, the girl that play Cosimo first love, Bianca, she is 100% italian, she is Sicilian. Yes, try to open your mind, italian is not a race, italy is plenty of blondes, redhead, light skins. We had many dominations and mix with others cultures.
I think the OG meant that Martin and Hoffman don't seem Italian at all....which they don't. It's hard to really view them as Italian fathers at all along with their father with the straight American accent. xD
Bianca had a beautiful accent btw.
Maybe it's because they are not playing Italians. They are playing 13th and 14th Century Florentines. They are playing bankers/politicians/manipulators, they did a pretty good job of it IMO.

There are lots of flashbacks of twenty years. When jump around in time like that you can never really get the ages right. Did you notice how no one in Shawshank Redemption ever aged?
