I kept waiting for the reveal that Maggie (Charlotte's assistant)...

was gay and crushing on Charlotte as much as Fred was crushing on her. Which would explain why she was so nasty to Fred: she hated him because he was getting what she could never have.

But then we find out she's schtupping the other assistant. Wonder if that was shoehorned in to prove her heterosexuality.
