Trailer dropped, and it looks damn good imo.

I’m really digging the aesthetics, and my goodness is Ed Harris looking uncanny.

Yeah, it kind of reminds me of that Wachowski movie 'BOUND'.

reply

First I’m hearing about Bound, I’ll have to check it out, quickly looked it up and it seems to be a reputable debut for the Wachowskis

reply

Yeah that one is worth a look.

Pass.

reply

Have a feeling it's gonna be horribly woke. I liked Saint Maud but I think I'll give this a pass.

reply

It’s possible but I’m not getting woke vibes from this, seems to be a character driven narrative with dark and strange themes throughout.
I think it’s a bit premature to rate this as woke, imo that is, as the inclusion of a lesbian romance doesn’t equate to wokeness. Although I could be wrong, I’m giving LLB the benefit of the doubt in the meantime.

Unless they show it being abusive, consisting of "lesbian bed death" after the initial dopamine rush ends, and depicting the manipulative and controlling aspects that go on in the high majority of those relationships, then yes, it will equate to being woke.

reply

Not really to me, looks like it's going to be a toxic and abusive lesbian relationship like you'd see with hetero couples in the 80's erotic thrillers. Hopefully it's just a good thriller.

looks good

I'll admit I was initially put off by the movie poster with that strangely jacked girl holding a gun, but the trailer is indeed quite impressive. Definitely looking forward to this one now.

reply

Hadn't heard anything about this (apparently it's coming out in a month!) and stumbled upon this trailer tonight. Looks really cool so I'm looking forward to it. Felt like an amalgam of neo noir and an 80's erotic thriller.

reply

Yeah feels like a throwback to that era.
