BEWARE: This is a TRANS movie

The trailer does a good job of hiding it. Be warned and don't waste your money.

reply

What if we like trans movies though?

reply

There aren't any pre-pubescent girls in this one, so you probably won't like it.

reply

This made me laugh. Most of my favourite films do not have pre-pubescent girls in them.

reply

Maybe I'm being dense but what exactly is "trans" about it? Do you mean the cast?

:edit: Oh the director and a few of the cast are trans. I'll be skipping this then.

reply

Yuck. Thanks for the warning -- premise looked interesting but even from the trailer it gave off some strong rainbow vibes, so will definitely be skipping this one.

Who cares whether it's about being trans? Is the movie good or not? If you haven't seen it, how do you know whether it is or not? Yeah, transpeople exist---get over it.

It's promoting an extremely unhealthy and dangerous lifestyle. I would think you should care, but then again, maybe you are an anarchist?

Is the movie good or not?

Sometimes this is secondary to the messaging -- yes, some movies can be good while promoting dangerous messages. Doesn't mean they should be supported just because they are good.

If you haven't seen it, how do you know whether it is or not?

That's precisely why I was asking.

Yeah, transpeople exist---get over it.

Technically, they do not. There are a small number of intersex individuals suffering chromosomal disorders, but otherwise you cannot switch or change genders, no matter how much you mutilate or cut off your body parts.

reply

Yes, people can, no matter what you think----that's why gender reassignment surgery, which has been around since like the '50s, exists. people have been doing that for decades now. Transpeople exist too, so get over it. They're not these creepy monsters creeping up out of the dark trying to eat you up---they're just regular folks who go to the movies and snack on popcorn just like you do, and some of them might even like this film because it might be about their experiences, since the director is trans---I honestly couldn't tell that after seeing an interview about her first film from a few years back. I shalt check this new film out myself, simply because it sounds nice and creepy and weird.

reply

sort of, but set in 90s, main girl is gay but placeholder for trans

reply

IRRELEVANT INFORMATION.

reply

^^gets it

Posters on Reddit who saw the film confirm this:

"I’ve heard it described as a trans I’m Thinking of Ending Things... after seeing the director Q&A, its clear it was made specifically to resonate with the trans experience"

"having seen it the trailers are super misleading. I don't even know why they are calling it a horror movie. All I say is that I think a lot of people are going to HATE it.'

reply

its not a horror film, don't think it fits a genre, its seems to be about loneliness and not fitting in

Is this movie a trans hypnosis rogue operation being carried out by ANTIFA? Does the process of your TV glowing implant queer musings within your brain that make you want to pump yourself full of estrogen and chop off your ding-a-ling?

Be careful folks. Watching this movie could make you trans!
