Emma should've stayed with Romantic comedies and such, this soft porn...

...and artsy fartsy stuff is not hers.

reply

I thought she was fantastic here.

reply

Given that, she has two more Yorgos Lanthimos films awaiting production and Cruella sequel
has similar characteristics. I'd appreciate a bit more variety, not just these "artistic" and peculiar films, but films in which she plays an ordinary person.

reply

yes good point, agreed.

reply

Her performance and the soundtrack made this "Men evil, women oppreessed" regurgitation watchable

reply

this is how propaganda should be, i guess.

reply

I wish disney would understand this and at least make some good movies, not just shit.

reply

It's tougher and tougher to not miss the days of Hollywood Pictures and the like.... Arms of The Mouse House that had no compunction about releasing movies made for adults

reply

I chuckle when I read stuff like this. Clearly these comments come from people who understand nothing about the source material and its author. But you've been programmed to utter the tropes of the mythical marginalised white male. It's now become like warning colours you get on some animals continually signaling to all their would be predators that they are alert and feel threatened.

reply

I'm a bronze-complexioned guy who's the direct descendant of two immigrants to The US. The current moral panic over pale faced heterosexual men is eerily similar to the vilification of everyone who so much as "looked Near Eastern" during the years immediately after 9/11

THAT'S my primary beef with Woke Thought

reply

And I'm a pale skinned man whose ancestors immigrated from the neighbouring European country. I see no panic or vilification over my presence (except in cake shops). And I don't see it in mainstream media. I see it in only in the words of all the idle, chickenshit complaints and received wisdom posted online by nobodies. There is no moral panic about white males.

Like I said, you clearly have no understanding of the material or its author. Or you wouldn't be invoking "woke" anything here.

Sounds like you just like the sound of yourself complaining about "woke".

reply

"And I'm a pale skinned man whose ancestors immigrated from the neighbouring European country"

You are clearly of Pollock ancestry

reply

Is Pollack an Irishman?

If you're using phrases like 'artsy fartsy' then it might be you who should stay with 'romantic comedies and such', rather than Emma Stone.

reply

nope. you project your low IQ on other people. super uncool.also romantic comedies can be nice.

reply

YOU SAID IT...YOU DEFEATED YOUR OWN POINT...MOVE ALONG,NOW.

reply

hey kowalksi stay down brother.

reply

REALLY?...NOW YOU WANT ME TO GIVE YOU ORAL?...WOW...YOU BETTER APOLOGIZE FIRST.

reply

KOWALKSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII :D

reply

I don't believe I suggested there was anything wrong with romantic comedies. But I think if you're describing material with the dismissive and derogatory phrase 'artsy fartsy' it is perhaps fair to suggest that it may not be for you.

I see no particularly good reason why Ms Stone -- or anyone else for that matter -- can't make a range of films, some of which may appeal to your sensibilities and some of which may not.

reply

it suggests? no you suggest. YOU said that. it came out of your brain capuchin. Emma Stone can make any movie she wants of course but this genre of "soft porn" is just not her thing.

reply

YOU DON'T KNOW HER...IT IS NOT YOUR THING...PERIOD.

reply

do YOU know her kowalksi? of course not, your argument is invalid.

reply

YOU EMBARRASS YOURSELF.

reply

sometimes i do of course lol, but i think have a good point here, right?

reply

Emma Stone can make any movie she wants of course

Bingo!

but this genre of "soft porn" is just not her thing.

It's not your thing. Not everything is for you.

reply

Good for you. You are the average soft porn enjoyer?

reply

You clearly don't even understand what the term pornography actually defines. It's just a word you are brandishing for effect. The effect it's having though is to confirm your piety, presumptions and pomposity.

reply

Speaking of Rom Coms: Did you sample "Anyone But You"?

reply

According to IMDB, this is a romantic comedy. Yorgos' rom-coms are bit different though. They don't fit perfectly into this genre.
