The most boring film ever made

I finally got around to watching this infamous "extreme film", and I just have to say GODDAMN THAT WAS SOME BORING CRAP!

For years I've heard people talk about how "shocking" this was supposed to be, but the only shocking thing here is how incredibly tedious it is. Almost 3 hours of dreary scenes showing people walking around in nature... sitting down... looking around... walking a little further... poking at some rubbish... walking even more... grabbing a branch.... sitting down... and getting up to walk some more.

Even Lord of the Rings didn't have as many walking-scenes as this nonsense. And all of it is completely without any reason or narrative.

Granted, there are a few scenes with some violence and perverted sex in there as well, but they only last a couple of minutes in total. And in between each of these gruesome sequences, there is at least half an hour of boring nonsense.

Director Marian Dora is not entirely without talent and he certainly manages to orchestrate some stylish imagery every now and then. But he is obviously in love with his own vision and draaaaaaags every scene way beyond its breaking point.

He would have benefited greatly from having some form of script editor or post-production manager who could just scrape away all the meaningless filler material. And if the film had been cut down to a typical music video length, it might have appeared a bit wild and edgy (in the vein of Prodigy's Smack My Bitch Up-video). But as it is now, it's more excruciatingly boring than Norwegian slow-TV.

I also checked out the making-of the documentary, and there Marian Dora talks about how there was a lot he had to cut from Melancholie der Engel. This means that he actually wanted to make it EVEN FREAKING LONGER!
