Did anyone ask for this, especially after the atrocious CGI of the “live” action Lion King?

The 2019 Lion King grossed over $1.5 billion (the most successful of all the "live action" remakes), so some sort of sequel/prequel was inevitable.

I would have liked this better explored in a TV series back in the 90s. I used to really want it over the Timon & Pumbaa series as a kid.

Why does someone have to ask for it? Did anyone ask for "Citizen Kane"? Sometimes they just make a movie, hoping people will like it. It's not like they count up the requests from some suggestion box.
