more evil Hitler of Stalin?

i would say Stalin. But its like saying who is worse a Black Widow spider or rattle Snake. You begin with the premise that both men brought more misery, pain, and sadness to the World than any two whoever lived.
I would say Stalin because Hitler did have a capacity to love some of the people in his life, such as his mother, or his pet dogs, Hitler did shed a tear or two for others, and mixed up in his perveted ideology was a fear of something terrible that he felt he could divinely prevent. He saw himself as a messiah, sent to save the German people. in the case of Stalin, it would be hard proven to show he ever loved any person on earth, even himself, he possessed the blackest of Hearts and on the spur of the moment could send even what others might consider his best friend out to be shot. Stalin could only have prospered under communism, he could never have been elected through legal means like Hitler, Stalin found his path through power through the bloody purges of communism and the rule of the unelected. He held onto power because of paranoia knowing if he was the one in charge he was the only one safe from the next purge, Stalin is much harder to figure out than Hitler. Even his ambition is hard to understand. The reasons he did the evil things he did, seem to have no reason, he doesn't even seem to be an enthusiastic communist. Communism was his way to power and way to hold on to it because communism gave him the easiest way to control the populace. Hitler is a psychopath and Stalin is a sociopath.
in the natural order of things it is felt that nature created Stalin as the antidote to Hitler. It took one Heartless murderer to defeat another.
Bad times brought both to power.and only shows the future if there is going to be a future begins with embracing the better angels of our natures rather than going with our darker instincts.

Hitler, no doubt.

reply

No doubt?
Then you do not know enough about this man.

I would say Stalin was worse. More people died under him than those who died the Holocaust. Stalin claimed more lives than the Holocaust did. Hitler didn't start WWII completely on his own (Mussolini and Japan helped) while Stalin had full control of the USSR. Also, Stalin's own wife committed suicide and his son attempted twice...his own family couldn't be around him.

Both suck though.

reply

Everyone who knows anything about ww2 knows Stalin was worse.

for one thing: hitler was never elected, he was given power by von hindenburg. the nazis were never democratically elected.

i guess it ultimately comes down to the personalities: i think you've got it right that stalin was conniving and machinating, an utter sociopath and hitler was a psycho.

stalin killed more people, but he was a ruler for a longer period of time. hitler was around for 12 years and look at the damage he was able to do.

hitler's ideology of racial and ethnic superiority called for the murder of millions of people and ultimately desired a state of constant war. for everything you can say about the evils of communism and the evils of stalin (and you can say a lot about both!), we certainly can't say that ultimately they desired the destruction of the vast majority of the human race and perpetual war.

if he was a leader for as long as stalin, and had as much power as him over as many people, doubtless he would have done far worse.

further - while khruschev was no angel, at least things got a little better for people when he came to power. there was nobody like that for hitler. the next person in line, be it himmler, goebbels, or so on, would be an absolute monster who believed the nazi ideology 100%. can you imagine any of these guys denouncing hitler in a speech after taking power like khruschev did for stalin? no way.

baby can you dig your man?
he's a righteous man.

reply

Hitler was worse, Stalin clailmed about 20 million life's. while Hitler claimed around 40 million.

reply

Hitler, but both monsters of a calibur rarely seen in human existence.

reply

Yeah, but at least Stalin had nice ideas about being people being nice to people, everything he did wrong was just collateral damage, it happens sometimes, he had the right intentions.

Hitler had mean ideas about people being mean to people.

reply

Both were monsters, but sorry Hitler is "on the top", it is just incredible that there are still people who admire him
