Ewan's accent is atrocious

Finney's is pretty good. I can't stand it when Ewan plays "southerners" or "Americans" he's absolutely AWFUL at the accent.

Perhaps you're objecting to the almost breathtakingly cloying sentimentality of the line itself, rather than his accent, which I thought was actually OK.🐭

He did a great job. Not a soul on earth that could've replaced him.

Actors from Great Britain always overdue the southern accent. I already knew Rick from Walking Dead was English because from seeing him act previously in Love Actually but figured out that the actress who plays Maggie was as well, because it just didn't sound right. They don't usually slip all that much, but it's always overdone.

Wildcattin'...Wildcattin'. Pow! I'm gonna go.

Lauren Cohan isn't English but the accent also isn't her natural one which I guess is what you mean.. she sounds pretty good to me but I've heard others say it's not quite right.

As for Ewan, I don't think he has the best American accent I've ever heard but I still think he is good in the role in general..

I like it. I thought he was charming.

Does it really matter? Did you enjoy the film? I thought it was wonderful and, I didn't care about accents or Albert Finney's weight or any of those unimportant things. The important thing is the film and how it affects you; not Ewan McGregor's "flawed" accent.

I kinda liked the accent being a touch over the top. Not that it's much of an excuse but it fits the theme of the film :p
