Even though presidents divide people as many believe they are guilty of bad deeds like wars...


... they are still admired and respected and in this movie, we have people willing to risk and lose their lives to save him, is that normal and explanatory?

Also, did Oldman's character have a point to make when he spoke to his daughter (the President's) about the father also having killed but that he did it with smart bomb etc and was the daughter wrong to simply think of Gary Oldman's character as a "monster" and the father/President a "great man"?

And did Americans really kill, and for very SELFISH reasons like that including illegally AND immorally, many innocents during the Gulf war to save money on gas, and is what they did and him shooting Melanie morally no different at all, if not worse, or is it much more complex in reality, as sad and unavoidable as collateral damage is in any war including that one?
