“All restaurants are Taco Bell.”

Gag me with a Flavor Straw.
I eat very little ttle peasant food, none at all of it Mexican, which makes me fart and puke. Mexico has some outstanding haute cuisine, like Pork in Orange Sauce. Good luck ordering Peirco Adobado at a fucking Taco Bell.

I’m guessing Taco Bell paid to have this line of dialogue inserted in the movie. I’d rather eat the rat burger Sly got than to have to chew through a tortilla.

I love this movie, BTW. It just needs a less bleak gustatory future.

dunno if you have noticed but movie theaters and even taco bell places are now having pizza and beer. even chicken strips, coffee and french fries are now being sold at the downtown movie theater

Chipotle soft burritos and Taco bell hard tacos, I'd live on

They changed it to Pizza Hut in some versions of the film and it makes little sense because when they are at dinner there is nothing that looks like pizza or breadsticks on their plates.

Off the subject a bit, but I wonder just what kind of justice the local Mexican independent restaurants around where I live do for Mexican food. Forgetting the chains (which butcher every cuisine IMO), we've been to several local independent Mexican restaurants, and while I generally enjoy the evening, everything I have at these places has the same flavor - regardless of what I order.

It's clear from the movie that the cuisine served in the 2036 version was not at all the same as the modern day Taco Bell fare.

Did you miss the fine dining atmosphere with the piano and singer? The small portions on fancy plates? That was part of the gag.
