was riggs supposed to be suicidal in this movie

because of roger's retirement? and they just didn't play too much into it except for the opening scene where riggs cuts the wrong wire as if he's trying to kill them both? was there any other evidence?

reply

I doubt it.

That was only in the first movie.

Riggs was being a bit reckless in that opening scene since he and Murtaugh obviously didn't know which wire to cut.

But not suicidal, since he told Murtaugh to get the hell out of the building with him when he realized they hadn't disarmed the bomb. Why would he do that if he was homicidal/suicidal?

good points but i also add that riggs stopped wearing a vest like he did in the first movie and i think he probably was wearing one at the end of part 2?

reply

In the movie they explain that there's some new bullets that easily pierce through vests.

Also a lot of Riggs crazy behavior was attributed to trying to quit smoking.

Maybe some of it could also be blamed to a new screenwriter joining the production crew?
