With all the failed MWC spinoffs, it's too bad the flashback sequence of Al Bundy as a child, didn't become a prequel.

Even though "The Big Bang Theory" and "Black-ish" didn't have a flashback sequence leading into "Young Sheldon" or "Mixed-ish," it would've been so cool if a young Al Bundy borrowing "The Little Engine That Could" from a library, was a lead-in to a prequel series appropriately titled "Young Mr. Bundy" (what the librarian Miss DeGroot called him in the flashback sequence aka the very first words uttered in that sequence). At least then Edan Gross (young Al) would've had a more promising career besides just being known as the voice of Good Guy doll from the "Child's Play" franchise.

On a side note, it's too bad that TV sitcoms don't have as much longevity as daytime soap operas. I would've loved for "Young Mr. Bundy" to come full circle with Al Bundy returning "The Little Engine That Could" to the library -- 1957 (the year he borrowed the book) to 1988 (the year that episode of MWC premiered).

I don't think a flashback to Al's childhood would be as funny as you think.
