They Should Make a Prequel To This.

A movie where we get to see the colonists fighting (and losing) against the aliens with only Newt surviving.

Would be a fun movie (after all the crap they've produced for the franchise).

That would be a movie I'd be willing to see!

Actually, you sort of read my mind. Last night I decided to watch Aliens again after not seeing it for several years. I have the version that includes the missing scenes which were not shown in the theater. Newt's family discovers the derelict space ship and her father suffers the same fate as Kane.

The film never goes into just HOW all the aliens discovered the colony of Hadley's Hope. Of course it's not necessary to push the story forward. But I always wonder just how the colony was attacked.

Obviously the eggs could remain in their current form for many, many years. But when Kane discovered them and later Newt's father, there were no adult aliens around inside that ship.

My theory is that once the Jordens got back to the colony and the alien chestburster emerged, it most likely overwhelmed the colonists and dragged a few of them back to the derelict ship where they were cocooned. Then several more of the adult aliens attacked the colony. It would have only taken a few days for a number of adult aliens to emerge and attack and overwhelm the colonists.

Otherwise, how else was the colony taken over?

Also, the sign for Hadley's Hope said "population 157". The eggs needed to gestate in live hosts. So there could only have been 157 aliens..

In the scene where the aliens attack and are repelled by the guns, many of them were killed. One of the soldiers said that it was a "shooting gallery" in the corridor. There was obviously not an infinite number of those aliens. But the movie made it seem like there were hundreds of them. Where did they all come from??

Probably need a mini series. Building the outpost. Stumbling across the aliens etc….leave newt on the cutting room floor.
