Malfeitor and his age

Wasn't he one of if not the most creepy scary looking dudes you've ever seen? The producer of this film, sure picked him well lol. But he (the actor playing him) was born in 1945. And the movie was released in 1986. That would make him around about 41 years old, but he looked much older than that in the movie. He looked too be in his 60's, wtf.
